Thank you Angela Nickeas for the Liebster award

A sunny image to go with my mood today - thanks so much to Angela Nickeas http://hiccupstudiodesigns.blogspot.co.uk for passing on the Liebster Blog Award.  I'm in such great company with other designers I don't actually know personally but definately know and respect their work.  Eeeh I'm touched (said in a Geordie accent).

Keeping things Geordie - yesterday we did a sneak peak of our new Blaydon Races 150 anniversary mug. Blaydon races is a race event which took place 9th June 1862 - theres a very famous song which you will all know if you hear it "ooohhh me lads you should've seen us gannin". Anyway twitter went mad - we were inundated with requests for this mug so had to quickly put it on our website and take pre-orders!! It was like being a celeb......  then I get the Liebster award from Angela..... think I'd best get me roots done just incase Jonathan Ross calls!

Heres the latest design for the Scouse Stuff range which I think says it all!  Its also on a mug (which looks lush) so looking forward to getting them out into stores.  We have just had quite a bit of interest in the Scouse Stuff range got a big retailer interested....... as usual I'm sworn to secrecy til its all signed sealed and delivered.  Blimey this design business is a bit cloak and dagger sometimes!

Well we've sorted out our printer issues and now have an amazing big print company to do all our work.  We have got our first range of giftwrap being printed next week.  Its been a really hard few weeks for us and we've gone from being a small business into the big league - this means however having to make lots of decisions about business which takes me away from being a designer. Did manage to get this one in this week - Divvin Gan (means don't go in strange Northumbrian Dialect).
We've are going to print 80,000 cards this year so it does show how much we've grown.  Not bad for two lasses from Newcastle and a business thats a year old!  Who knows Rodney this time next year.....

Being a designer is great..... (just not all the time)

I've got designer blues - well they are more like greens to be precise.  We switched print companies - found a better one who care about existing customers rather than chasing after new ones (theres more but I don't want to start a rant).  Anyway sent through loads of work to go to bulk print and the proofs came back with colours are all different.  Our new printer is lovely and helpful but it looks like I will just move into my office never go out again (well I don't go out too much now anyway) and change all my fifty billion card designs to match their colour profiles!!  So Merry Christmas everyone I may be some time!

Just getting ready for Mothers Day here at Geordie HQ - marketing starts next week once we've got Valentines day out of the way.  Had a long old week this week but its been very productive. We've now got an agent in Liverpool for our Scouse Stuff and are pushing forward with the other new ranges.  PHEW!

How fab!  Rebecca who has the lovely and inspirational Little Tree Design blog has kindly featured me along with some of the best illustrators and designers around today.  I'm welling up...... its just like getting an Oscar, well without the dress, and the paps and oh yeah its for drawing!!

Well life is Canny Good if not really mad busy at the moment. We have Geordie Mugs (for Tyneside), Scouse Stuff (for Merseyside) and now we are working on Canny Good (for Northumbria) (www.cannygood.co.uk)  We are also working with some amazing design companies such as Rude Wrappings have a look (very rude but very funny) www.rudewrappings.co.uk- we mutually love each others products and have very funny business meetings!  Its all good just need a few more hours in each day.....
